You can do whatever you want to certain spaces in your house and they’re never really going to look good. Though you don’t spend so much time... Creative man pimps out his garage with a designer floor

You can do whatever you want to certain spaces in your house and they’re never really going to look good. Though you don’t spend so much time in the basement, garden shed or garage, it doesn’t hurt to spruce these areas up a bit to make them more welcoming. That must have been what this man was thinking when he made his garage his own.

He wasn’t loving the dull gray concrete floor. Something more stylish was definitely in order. But for that, the garage first had to be emptied out and very thoroughly cleaned.

The new floor won’t sufficiently stick to the quite smooth surface of the original concrete one, so the top layer has to be treated with a special acid. A respirator and durable gloves are a must for this step!

After roughening the floor surface, the joints between the concrete plates need to be filled. This requires a thick lime mixture. Now the whole floor is smooth and level.

Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty! First, apply a layer of dark blue resin, using a brush in the tricky corners. This layer should dry thoroughly for a day.

These special strap-on nail soles make the perfect little helpers for this project, making it possible to walk across the wet resin without smearing it or leaving footprints.

On the next day, when the first layer is dry, apply a second coat of clear resin. Now, with your nail strap-on soles and a bag of white confetti, it’s time to bring the real pizazz to your floor. Scatter the confetti in the air and just let it land where it may on the top layer of resin.

This is how the finished, dry floor looks. The only thing missing is some super spiffy walls to match the floor. Check back soon to find out if there’s an update on this front!

This extravagant garage project is probably not for everyone, but for those who have the time and the money to invest in a really kitted-out car would no doubt enjoy this idea. To take this concept a step further that would surely appeal to the ladies, what about replacing the white confetti with glitter? What a sight that would be as it flies through the air!
